    After the big Sony hack where they lost everyone's credit cards, I decided to start purchasing PSN cards instead of directly using my credit card on PSN. And if my account got hacked, I didn't want a bunch of extra funds on my account, so I only redeemed them when necessary. Cut to this morning, where I tried to redeem a newly scratched off card I bought last year... 'code has already been used'. Am I just screwed?

    3. I got a psn card that was given a s a gift but they didnt know you had to activate the card for it to work they no longer have the reciept so can i just call ps and confirm the card or can i take to a store and have it scanned and also can 7-11 scan the psn card.

    I have a new $50 Playstation Network card, but it does not have the magnetic strip across the back of it. When I bought it from the store, they just scanned it and said that it should automatically activate.     You: So someone stole my $50?

    Rodrigo: This code was redeemed and used on a different account, you purchased this on 11/16/2014 and it was redeemed 3 months later, i have to be completely honest with you and is that we are not able to provide a different voucher from the costumer service department because the content was redeemed after it's purchase date.

    You: Of course it was redeemed after the purchase date - that's when the card was activated! It clearly wasn't activated by me.

    Rodrigo: Multicron, i want you to understand the complete situation. We cannot reverse or provide new content because the content has been redeemed and the other reason is that it was purchased 1 year ago. Rodrigo: That only possibility to get a refund/replace is with the institution where you purchased this content (Your retailer).

    You: Can I escalate this? The reason I started buying PSN cards was that you got hacked and lost everyone's credit cards. Now you're telling me if someone steals my PSN code, I'm screwed? That makes me want to never be a Sony customer ever again.

    You: I can't get a refund, I bought the card last year.

    Rodrigo: I actually said that this request, (specifically due to the circumstances ) is not possible to be reversed because of the previous reasons, the evidence shows that this card was redeem for that reason and because of the PSN policies we cannot process a voucher redeemed 8 months ago. May i know if you have any other question, besides this?

    You: Right. So it's not me, and there's nothing you can do to get my $50 back? Please tell me how I can use Sony services without getting my credit cards hacked and stolen, and my PSN card codes stolen.

    Marcela: Exactly Multicron the code has been used after purchased and not before you actually got the code.

    You: Which is true 100% of the time??

    Marcela: I am providing the information from my system Multicron, I just want to confirm, did you purchase the code on 11/16/2014 as on the previous conversation is showing?

    You: Yes.

    You: I have the receipt - I uploaded a pic of the receipt and card to Rodrigo

    Marcela: And I apologize you had troubles with your credit cards before, I understand that could be really frustrating however if the password is not shared there shouldn't be any way that someone gets access to your account.

    You: Uh, remember that giant hack in 2011 where you lost 77 million credit card numbers???

    Marcela: We have worked hard ever since so that won't happen again Multicron there has not been any other situation like that.

    Marcela: I wish we could have a way to actually confirm what is the ownership of the account where the code has been redeemed Multicron, however at the moment the code has been redeemed and we cannot replace it.

    Marcela: Do you have any other question different than this one?

    You: Can you please escalate this?

    Marcela: I am sorry Multicron this is the higher level of support you can reach at the moment.

    You: At the moment? When can I escalate this?

    Marcela: I mean this is the higher level of support you can reach, I am a PlayStation supervisor, we are not able to escalate this I really apologize.

    You: So you're basically telling me if someone steals my PSN funds there is no recourse?

    You: So I can just start plugging in 12 digits codes to PSN to see what works? That seems insane.

    Marcela: I am sorry sir, that is not what I meant, and we respect the way you feel however I am just informing the process we have and there is no way for us to confirm who is actually the ownership of the account where the code was redeemed.

    Marcela: Therefore there is no way to track who is the person who actually redeemed the code,

    You: You don't have their billing address or Playsation serial number or anything?

    Marcela: No sir, we don't have access to that, that is actually private information, we cannot escalate this case further as much as I would like to Multicron, in this case if you don't have any other doubt I will have to discontinue the conversation.
